Every number here comes straight from the XRP Ledger. Sorting it into real use, bots and failures is my call, and THE BREAKDOWN shows the rules.
THE BIGGEST STORY OF THE LAST 5 MINUTES
12,700 Batch transactions in the last 5 minutes. 98% did nothing but pay a fee.
12,462 of 12,700 Batch transactions that reported success landed nothing inside, because everything in them failed or another Batch got there first. They still paid their fees.

HOW IT'S COUNTED
Straight from the ledger. Every number is read from public XRP Ledger servers. No third-party data and no estimates. Each figure shows the ledgers it came from, so anyone can check it.
Bots and dust covers three things: trade offers placed and cancelled by the same account within about a minute, payments worth less than 0.001 XRP, and Batch transactions that changed nothing, either because everything inside failed or because another Batch got there first.
Real use is everything that succeeded and isn't bots or dust. Failed means it made it into a ledger and paid its fee, but did nothing else.
